Located in the West Georgia city of Columbus, Columbus Regional was established in 1986 as a not-for-profit health services organization, but its roots can be traced back to 1836 when the local hospital was a small wooden building on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.

We are currently seeking a candidate for the following position:
Director, Patient Access

The Patient Access Services Director oversees operations of the Main Registration areas and ensures continued improvement in the staff’s sensitivity to patients and their families. The successful candidate will provide consistency in Registration policies and procedures as well as handle activities related to main registration, Emergency and Trauma Center and centralized scheduling. 

  • Three years of experience in hospital registration at the management level, preferably in acute care working with Siemens, Medical Necessity, and Healthcare Scheduling Systems
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or other related field is required
  • Strong knowledge of computerized information and processing systems is ideal with applied knowledge of third party insurance carriers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill with ability to relate to the public and health care professionals
  • Must be an Accredited Access Manager and/or Certified Patient Account Representative
  • Quality Management background with Performance Improvement goal setting and able to supply actionable/measurable outcomes
  • Team builder; provides coaching, training and general HR solutions
  • Develops and manages budget and manages cost within organizational guidelines

Director of Internal Audit

The Director of Internal Audit is accountable for the development, implementation, production, and communication as appropriate of the Internal Audit Program for Columbus Regional Healthcare System, including all of its operating affiliates. The Internal Audit Program encompasses internal financial, operational, and compliance analysis and review of every department within the organization. The Director of Internal Audit reports directly to the Columbus Regional Board of Directors with operational oversight by the Chief Executive Officer of Columbus Regional.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred
  • Certification as an Internal Auditor or Certified Public Accountant is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of internal auditing practical experience, preferably for a not-for-profit healthcare system or similar organization but generally in a hospital, healthcare or similar industry
  • Sufficient practical experience conducting, documenting and communicating internal audits or similar responsibilities in a like industry
  • Sufficient professional work experience commensurate with a liaison of the office of the CEO
  • Certified Public Accounting and related field audit experience may be substituted on a 1:1 basis for years of experience in Internal Auditing
