Anthony Escobio is currently Vice President of Revenue Cycle at Tampa General Hospital. He began his career in healthcare finance 23 years ago, and has held positions with hospitals, physician practices and home health companies. Prior to Baptist Health Care, Joe spent 14 years at Ohio Health, a multi-hospital, integrated delivery system based in Columbus, Ohio. At Ohio Health, he served in numerous roles, including as the Chief Financial Officer of Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals, the flagship of Ohio Health covering two inpatient campuses with over 1400 beds, and as the Senior Vice President of Finance of Ohio Health providing corporate financial leadership to all Ohio Health entities. His many activities at Ohio Health included leading a financial turnaround at one of the subsidiary hospitals, integration planning, joint venture development, and creating a consolidated corporate services function.

Ruth Fricke, is the Regional Vice President, Accountable Care, at United Healthcare. She is also responsible for compliance issues related to billing, reimbursement, and HIPAA.
Kathy has over 35 years’ experience in health care. Prior to joining FHA, Kathy worked with Florida Hospital in Orlando for 18 years. She has held positions in Patients Business, Internal Audit, Systems Management, DRG Management, and as Associate Director of Budget. Prior to leaving Florida Hospital, Kathy held the position of Reimbursement Director.

Myriam L. Torres is vice president of revenue cycle at Jackson Health System, one of the largest and most comprehensive public-academic health systems in the United States. Jackson is home to some of the world’s most admired medical specialties and the academic home of the University of Miami Miller School Medicine. Jackson Health System includes six hospitals and a countywide network of outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, and long-term care centers.
As the vice president of revenue cycle, Mrs. Torres is responsible for overseeing the operations of all areas of revenue cycle, including patient access, revenue integrity, the central business office (CBO), health information management, clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and managed care contracting. Under her leadership, her team achieved cash collection goals exceeding targeted collections year over year while establishing dynamic goals. They also implemented Quantum Revenue Cycle (QRC), an innovative approach to optimizing people, process, technology and vendor support together, yielding unprecedented results, including a reduction in discharged not final billed (DNFB) days from 4 to 1.5 days, improved speed of billing by 60 percent for inpatient stays, and gains in productivity by 10 to 12 percent across departments. In addition, her team renegotiated revenue cycle’s top five vendor contracts, achieving a savings of $750,000 annually and restructured leadership by assigning tasks and responsibilities that maximize an individual’s passion and strengths rather than slotting people into pre-defined roles.
Mrs. Torres joined Jackson in 2012 as the chief financial officer of Jackson South Community Hospital, where she oversaw operations of patient access, accounting, rehabilitation, dietary, radiology, wound care, and the radiation oncology center. There, she helped achieve the facility’s annual budget targets, assisted with physician and ancillary contract review and analysis, and developed a revenue cycle team to focus on decreasing length of stay. During her tenure at Jackson South, net income increased by more than 25 percent, length of stay (LOS) was reduced by more than 8 percent; and paid-claims ratio (PCR) improved by nearly 3 percent.
Prior to joining Jackson, Mrs. Torres worked as the corporate controller at Miami Jewish Health Systems, the chief financial officer and controller at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami, the controller of North Shore Medical Center, and director of patient financial services at Coral Gables Hospital.
