The Growing Wave of Direct-to-Consumer Telehealth:
Will it Disrupt or Aid the Traditional Medical Model?

The growth of virtual/mobile healthcare delivery is quickly approaching a tipping point. With the demand for convenience from millennials, the need for cost reduction by employers, and the interest and capabilities from the technology sector, virtual visits are carving out a key niche in healthcare delivery. This presentation discusses today’s virtual healthcare options and takes a look at the history, utilization, and economics of this growing field. Additionally, it discusses uncertainties and risks associated with reimbursement, privacy, and compliance issues and how these have created challenges for the growth and implementation of virtual healthcare.
